Turnover crust filled with coconut, milk, and spices
As kids, the family would gather together and grate coconut by hand. Once grating was complete, our elders would use coconut to make coconut tarts for special occasions and holidays.
Typically, this was served in a traditional tart makeup (open-face), but we wanted to make it easy to eat on the go, which is why we now serve it in a shape similar to our patties. No longer do we reserve these for special occasions, as eating them always transports us back to the great times we would spend together as a family.
